For the second time in Berlin, Zug der Liebe is back and this time carrying about ten thousand people with it. ‘We don’t have enemies! Even mislead sheep are mothers, fathers, uncles or aunts – at least they are somebody’s child’. This was written on the official website of the parade. It’s not only the bigness that counts but an event that doesn’t disappoint. The parade was about more than celebrating the music, it was a demonstration for more love and social justice. Berlin’s identity may be a big mishmash of cultures. The motto in 2016 was: ‘for a solitary Berlin, against hate’.
